Posting a bulb is how you capture an idea, product, process, service, or business concept on bulbstorm. Once you're captured your bulb on bulbstorm you can continue to develop it alone, with trusted friends or with all of bulbstorm.
Public Information: basics for listing a bulb
- Basic fields are the bulb title, brief description, image, category, development status, type of bulb, development date and keywords.
- These fields are viewable by anyone on bulbstorm unless you've selected the "Lights Out" sharing status.
Sharing Status: control access to your bulb
- A "Lights out" bulb is viewable only by you.
- A "Yellow" bulb content is viewable to you and bulbstorm buddies you authorize.
- A "Green" bulb is viewable to anyone on bulbstorm.
Bulb Basics: create context for your bulb
- Full description. A comprehensive description of your bulb with any details you'd like to include.
- Needs it meets/problem solved. Provide context about your bulb by describing more about what it does and why it makes a difference.
- Who's it for/target market. Identify the target market by sharing who is likely to use or benefit from your bulb.
- Why is it unique/better? Describe the unique benefits of your bulb and compare these to currently available solutions.
- Intellectual property. Any intellectual property rights associated with your bulb can be listed.
What Are You Looking For
- You can designate specific areas, such as finance or marketing, where you'd like outside expertise or help.
- Your selections will be listed at the top of the contributions area for your bulb and will guide others as they review/contribute to your bulb.
Additional Details
- This section allows you to add more detailed information about your bulb such as additional descriptions, images, video or files
- Additional details can be bulblocked, allowing you to control access to the material.

Can I change my sharing status later?
You can change your sharing status at any time. You select an initial status when posting a bulb, but can change it later through the Edit tab on your bulb listing.

What are keywords and how do they work?
Keywords allow you to share specifics about your idea to help others find your bulb, or understand your bulb more quickly. An example of this for a bulb listing equipment suitable for both swimming and scuba diving might be to include words like “scuba, equipment, swimming.”

How can I edit my bulb?
Any field in your bulb can be edited at any time through the Edit tab on your bulb listing. The Edit tab is only accessible and viewable for the bulb owner.

How do I allow my buddies to view my bulb?
You can invite anyone you’d like to view your bulb. When you’re posting a bulb, you can share your bulb with any of your buddies, and you can also send an email to notify anyone who isn’t on bulbstorm. From the Permissions tab on your bulb, you can set permissions to authorize who you’d like to view your bulb.

We recommend discussing all matters regarding intellectual property with your attorney. Additionally, as you post your bulb be sure to protect sensitive information on bulbstorm by utilizing tools such as bulblock, Non-Disclosure Agreements, and the sharing status of your bulb.
