How do I keep my ideas safe?
There are two easy ways to securely share your ideas. Utilize bulbstorm’s bulblock feature to share widely while keeping certain information secured for authorized access only. Or you can limit access to those you authorize by selecting a Yellow sharing status when you post your bulb. Both options allow you to control access to your material.
Select a Sharing Status
Sharing status is set when you post a bulb. This is a general status that controls who is allowed to view your bulb.
- A "Lights out" bulb is viewable only by you.
- A "Yellow" bulb content is viewable to you and bulbstorm buddies you authorize.
- A "Green" bulb is viewable to anyone on bulbstorm.
Bulblock Overview
The revolutionary bulblock allows you to communicate that additional information is available without revealing it. Additional descriptions, images and files that provide proprietary or confidential information can be made available to others only AFTER you authorize access.
As a premium member, you can upload files which you can secure with selective access. The title and description of the file are viewable to the community, but the contents of the file are not accessible. If another member requests access, you can request an electronic non-disclosure agreement (NDA) and review the member's profile before granting access to your sensitive information. Only your authorization will enable another member to view the bulblocked material. This entire process documents what information was shared, when and with whom!
How it works
- When a bulbstorm member clicks on the bulblocked item, they will recieve a message explaining that the information is restricted to uses approved by you.
- Optionally, you may also request that a user agree to a non-disclosure agreement in advance of granting them access.
- You will receive a notification with a link to the requesting bulbers profile and their acceptance or denial of your agreement.
- You may then grant access to that individual.
- Access may be revoked at any time using the permissions tab of the bulb.
- A sample NDA is provided for your convenience, you may supply your own agreement in the space provided.
- Any agreement you select will be used for all bulblocked items in this bulb.
